Cisco Provides New Options for CCNA Voice Certification | |

New Qualification Path Broadens Options for Obtaining Industry-Leading Voice Certification SAN JOSE, Calif., June 9, 2009 – Cisco today announced changes to its voice certification track, offering new options for students pursuing a CCNAŇ Voice Certification. On June 24, 2009, two paths will be available for students working toward this certification. CCNA Voice: * CCNA Voice validates associate-level knowledge and skills required to administer a voice network. * CCNA Voice certification validates a network professional's skills required to perform baseline installation, operation and maintenance of Cisco® VoIP solutions. * The CCNA Voice curriculum includes VoIP technologies such as Internet Protocol PBX, IP telephony, handset, call control and voicemail solutions. * Candidates also have access to the Cisco Unified Communications architecture and design covering mobility, presence and Cisco TelePresenceTM applications. CCNA Voice certification enterprise option: Passing the CVOICE 6.0 exam * The enterprise option assesses skills and knowledge related to the Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0 solution. * This solution is typically employed by large organizations such as governments, enterprises and academic institutions. These IP telephony systems can scale up to 50,000 users or more. * By following this path, students will have already completed one exam toward a CCVP® certification when they receive their CCNA Voice certification. CCNA Voice certification commercial option: Passing the IIUC exam * The commercial option assesses skills and knowledge related to the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express 4.1 and Cisco Unity Express solutions. * These solutions are typically used by small and medium-sized organizations with fewer than 2,000 employees, such as retail businesses and small school districts. Key Facts/Highlights: * A recent report from market research firm Infonetics Research shows that the global VoIP services market grew 33 percent to $30.8 billion in 2008. * Candidates who have already passed both CCNA and CVOICE 6.0 exams will be issued a CCNA Voice certification within six to eight weeks. * The new CCNA Voice option is scheduled to be available June 24, 2009. * The CCVP 4.1 certification path is scheduled to be retired December 31, 2009.
